At a time when the global economy is collapsing around us, the last refuge might be the nursing home. so i played for the residents, many of whom have been around and in show business their entire lives. they know the GREAT AMERICAN SONGBOOK , the lyrics the melodies; so it's a delight to perform there. one resident JAMES MOODY'S cousin requested UNFORGETTABLE, CHARLIE PARKER, AND ARTHUR PRYSOCK. i did my best to oblige. among the tunes recorded, SOPHISTICATED LADY, PRELUDE TO A KISS, PERDIDO, I'M GETTING SENTIMENTAL OVER YOU, BYE BYE BLACKBIRD, I FALL IN LOVE TOO EASILY, THE MORE I SEE YOU, SPEAK LOW, MY FUNNY VALENTINE, OUR LOVE IS HERE TO STAY, I'VE GROWN ACCUSTOMED TO HER FACE, MR. MOODY LOVES BEBOP, and MOODY'S MOOD FOR LOVE.
it was a great afternoon inside even though it was in the 70s outside.
i will be performing more at the FIRESIDE NURSING HOME. THE ACOUSTICS ARE GREAT, and audience is appreciative!
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!
